How to Just Design with Concepts

  • Snap to Key Points means your stroke end will locate and “snap” to significant points on the canvas.
  • Snap to Grid means your stroke end will align with points on your grid (chosen up there in Grid Type & Display).
  • Snap to Sketching means your stroke will suggest auto-completion to nearby strokes as you sketch.
  • Snap to Active Layer Only keeps the search for snap points inside the current layer, so you aren’t shifting through multiple layers at once. Especially helpful in a complex drawing.
  • If there’s only one stroke nearby, it will select that stroke.
  • If there are many strokes within a short radius from your finger or stylus, it will present pins labeled by the nearby strokes’ tool types. Tap the pin representing the stroke you wish to select.
  • You can also select one or many items at a time, via a tap-hold-drag. It will select anything inside your lasso.
  • Use the Line guide for the first line, then deactivate the guide and simply Duplicate, rotate and resize each line. The Duplicate button is definitely your friend.
  • If Snap keeps snapping to places you don’t like, turn it off momentarily by touching it in the HUD. Turn it on when you need it.
  • If you’re getting confused by where and where not to draw, drag your finger down the opacity bar on the Layer popup, or turn off a layer by touching its eye. Or, you can scrub between layers by quickly dragging your finger through them. Try it, it’s nifty. Just tap the layer to disable this Focus Mode.
